Announcing a new summer job opening for 2018: Camp Mark Seven (CM7), a residential camp situated on the lush and beautiful Fourth Lake of the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York, is accepting applications for the position of ASSISTANT DIRECTOR of CHILDRENS PROGRAMS for summer 2018. The Assistant Director works collaboratively with the Camp Director (the senior director for operations) and individual camp Program Directors in leading, managing and supervising programs for deaf, hard-of-hearing, and KODA campers, ages 8 to 16. General responsibilities include oversight for the planning, marketing and promotion, scheduling, execution and evaluation of approximately 6 children’s camp sessions (e.g., KODA camps, Deaf Film camp, etc.) Additionally, the Assistant Director serves as Camp Mark Seven’s senior leader in the event that the Camp Director is absent from the campus. This position requires a commitment of approximately 2-hours per week from January to May (for planning and preparation) and full-time, in residence at CM7 in Old Forge, NY on June 15 - August 23, 2018. ALL SUMMER:

ASSISTANT FOOD SERVICES DIRECTOR: Minimum two years experience working in an institutional setting, or where a large number of people are served. Some experience supervising kitchen staff. KITCHEN ASSISTANT: Be at least 18 years old. Experience working in the kitchen preferred but not required. Assist the Food Services Director with his/her duties. DISHWASHER ASSISTANT: Be at least 18 years old. Have some dishwashing/kitchen experience. HOUSEKEEPER: Be at least 18 years old. Experience with housekeeping and cleaning. Monitor and do laundry. GROUNDSKEEPER: Be at least 18 years old. Groundskeeping experience preferred. MAINTENANCE CREW: Be at least 18 years old. Have some maintenance experience with use of various equipment to maintain the Camp Mark Seven buildings/property.

PROGRAM STAFF:

CAMP NURSE: Must be one of the following: Physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant, registered Health Director (RN), licensed practical Health Director (LPN), licensed paramedic or emergency medical technician (EMT). Must be New York State licensed or as approved by the NY State Department of Health. CPR and First Aid certification required. LIFEGUARDBe at least 21 years old. Assist the Waterfront Director. Have 1 season of previous Waterfront experience as a lifeguard. Possess a CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificate issued by the Red Cross. Hold WSI and open waterfront module certification. COUNSELORS:
  • DEAF PROGRAMS – Be at least 19 years old. Experience in camping and supervision of children. Completion of 1 year of college is preferred. First Aid/CPR certifications are required.
  • KODA PROGRAMS – Be at least 19 years old. Experience in camping and supervision of children. CODAs preferred. Completion of 1 year of college is preferred. First Aid/CPR certifications are required.
